Responsibility

Four claims, each one checkable.

Responsibility statements in this trade are usually written to be unfalsifiable. We have tried to write the opposite kind: specific enough that a customer or an auditor could catch us out if they were untrue.

The short version

What we will and will not say.

A supplier that claims everything is telling you nothing. These are the boundaries we have set on our own statements.

We will publish only what can be evidenced. Every commitment on the four pages behind this one is something we can produce a document, a payslip, a certificate or a meter reading for. If you audit suppliers, ask — that is what it is there for.

We will not publish a number we have not measured. There is no carbon figure on this site, because we have not measured our footprint to a standard that would make one honest. When we have, it will appear here with the methodology attached.

We will not claim what happens upstream. We are a manufacturer. We can speak for what happens between a rough parcel arriving in Katargam and a sealed packet leaving it, and for the Kimberley Process documentation that governs what we buy. We cannot speak for conditions at a mine we have never seen, and neither can anyone else in the middle of this chain.

We will not use responsibility as a sales argument. Buy from us because the parcel opens as described. These pages exist because you are entitled to know how we operate, not as a reason to pay more.

Auditing your supply chain? Ask for the file.

Kimberley Process certification, warranty statements, parcel records and labour documentation. We would rather send it than have you take our word for it.
